Will Emily Crockett Repeat Her Lie About Andrew Breitbart Being ‘Drunk’ at CPAC?

Posted by on Wednesday, 15 February, 2012

In her Monday article about Andrew Breitbart’s “epic rant to CPAC Occupiers” last week, Campus Progress reporter Emily Crockett claimed that Breitbart had been drunk. Initially, she claimed that his speech had been “slurred”–an accusation that she had to walk back after it was shown to be bogus. Crockett has changed the text of her article somewhat, but it still contains the following false insinuations: A lot of commenters wondered if Breitbart was drunk, and  this video from WND strongly suggests that he was. In the video, as Breitbart is preparing to go confront the crowd, somebody off-camera says that it would look bad to do so with a glass of wine in his hand. “So what? We’re allowed to drink wine in America!” Breitbart says * . Soon after, there’s a sound of breaking glass. [Breitbart maintains that he was not drunk. You decide.] New and previously unseen video, provided to Big Journalism by someone who was standing next to him at the protest, shows that the “breaking glass” incident had nothing to do with Breitbart. At the start of the video, which is one continuous shot, it is clear that Breitbart’s hands are empty. At 0:55, the sound of breaking glass is heard, but Breitbart neither throws nor drops a glass; he does not appear to move at all, or even flinch. (The person who provided the video suggested that someone in the Occupy crowd had likely thrown a bottle, but that is impossible to tell from the camera angle.) The video suggests that the admonition that it would look bad to respond to Occupy protestors while holding a glass of wine is not even directed specifically at Breitbart. Regardless, it is clear that Breitbart is in full possession of his faculties; he is not speaking in a “slurred” way, nor is he showing any other sign of intoxication. Yet Crockett continues to invite her readers to conclude that he is drunk, without a shred of proof beyond the fevered hate-tweets of Breitbart’s Occupy-loving detractors. This evening, at 7 pm EST / 4 pm PST, Crockett is scheduled to appear on Cenk Uygur’s program on Current TV. Uygur, fresh from sandbagging Breitbart with a shameful and indefensible lie , is evidently committed to smearing Breitbart with any falsehood he can. Will Crockett play along–or will she finally retract and apologize? Uygur hasn’t apologized yet; will Crockett set the example, or sink to his level?

Saudi Blasphemer Arrested in Moderate MalaysiaFaces Deportation and Death Penalty

Posted by on Thursday, 9 February, 2012

A Saudi man accused of blaspheming the so-called “prophet” Muhammad on Twitter has been arrested in Malaysia. If extradited, he could face the death penalty in his native country . Malaysian authorities arrested a Saudi newspaper writer wanted by the Gulf kingdom for offending Islam and Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) and local reports said he could face death. Hamza Kashgari was seized as he arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday following his escape from Saudi Arabia on news that King Abdullah has ordered him arrested and prosecuted for religious insults in his articles on Twitter. Criticizing religious figures is a fundamental human right. Which is why legally enforced sharia, even in it’s so-called “moderate” forms, is inherently antithetical to freedom and liberty.

Life. “By defeating Mitt Romney in the Missouri primary on Tuesday, Rick Santorum nursed the niggling perception that the frontrunner for the Republican nomination has yet to close the deal with conservative voters… “‘Tonight’s victory should put to bed the idea that the Republican nomination for Mitt Romney is inevitable,’ said Stuart Roy, an advisor to Read this post

CBS News D.C. Station Slams Voter ID Bill in Va. As ‘"Jim Crow" Voting Legislation’

Posted by on Tuesday, 7 February, 2012

“'Jim Crow' Voting Legislation Passes in Virginia Senate,” a CBS news headline on a Washington D.C. CBS news website alarmed readers tonight. The AP/CBSDC story, filed at 10:33 p.m. Eastern on the website for CBS Radio's new all-news station WNEW, reports on the passage of a strict voter ID law in the Virginia State Senate. As we've noted previously, the Washington Post has reported, uncritically, Virginia Democratic legislators' Jim Crow comparisons , but it appears that CBS News is taking the Washington Post's bias even further (see screen capture below page break): RICHMOND, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — A controversial bill that has drawn likeness to Jim Crow-era politics in Virginia has taken another big step forward. The legislation that will force voters to bring identification to Virginia polling places on election day won Senate passage Monday after Republican Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling broke a 20-20 partisan deadlock. Monday’s vote in the 40-member Senate marked what opponents felt was the last chance to stop the legislation. Opponents claim it would suppress votes of minorities, the elderly or disabled and students. Passage into law is largely thought to be a formality at this point.

Jesse "Younes Abdullah Muhammad" Morton Complains that US Prisons No Better than Guantanamo

Posted by on Monday, 6 February, 2012

Our old friend Jesse “Younes Abdullah Muhammad” Morton has confirmed that he is back on US soil after being extradited from Morocco last October . You might remember Younes from such antics as congratulating Osama bin Laden on his “martyrdom” & entry into heaven & “warning” those South Park guys might get killed and here is where they live . On his former website Islam Policy — which took the place of his old Revolution Muslim website — yet another email from Younes was posted : I am writing this to let the ummah know that I have arrived on extradition from Morocco to the United States, while it is impossible for me to communicate at this time, I did want to express my gratitude to all of those that have assisted myself and family throughout this trial. He then goes on to complain that the conditions of Muslim prisoners in the US is no different than those at Guantanamo Bay. Which, as you know, are pretty good actually . I’d go out on a limb and suggest that prison conditions inside the US are much worse than at Guantanamo Bay. So, have fun in those showers Younes! He also gives an email address for his wife begging his readers to help support her financially. No, I’m not going to post the email. Being married to Younes is torture enough, she doesn’t need any more crap from us. Hat tip: Censored31

RNC Chair stands by his comparison of Obama to cruise ship captain

Posted by on Monday, 30 January, 2012

“It was an analogy of leadership.” In case you missed it, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus yesterday compared President Barack Obama to Captain Francesco Schettino, who abandoned the Costa Concordia cruise ship as it was sinking, even though the evacuation of passengers had barely begun. In an appearance Sunday morning on CBS, Priebus said, “We’re going to talk about our Read this post
