Tranny Cowboy Defends Trayvon Martin for Some Reason

Posted by on Wednesday, 28 March, 2012

I was watching TV this morning when I saw this tranny cowboy talking about about the Trayvon Martin case for some reason. And I told myself, “It’s good to see that The Village People are making a comeback. I always wondered what they’d look like in their golden years. And also in drag.”

Pennsylvania legislator attacks pro-life women as “men with breasts”

Posted by on Monday, 26 March, 2012

Huh? This is truly one of the most bizarre, perplexing bits of news I’ve ever encountered. It’s the sort of tidbit that justifies the resurrection of that cliché: “We’re through the looking glass.” Up is down, down is up, an embrace of fertility is somehow a sign of masculinity … Pennsylvania State Rep. Babette Josephs, a Read this post

Actor Kirk Cameron defends his controversial comments about homosexuality

Posted by on Tuesday, 20 March, 2012

How stunning that a Christian believes what Christianity teaches! On “The Today Show” this morning, actor Kirk Cameron told host Ann Curry that he stands by his past controversial comments about homosexuality. Earlier this month, on “Piers Morgan Tonight,” Cameron said he does not support gay marriage and thinks that homosexuality is “destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.” In his conversation Read this post

CAIRO (Reuters) – The average yield at an auction on Sunday of Egyptian 273-day treasury bills declined, and the central bank sold more than it originally offered, the Ministry of Finance said on its website. Yields have been edging down since February 2 on optimism that the worst of Egypt’s troubles may be over after a year of political and economic turmoil. The average yield edged slid to 15.829 percent from 15.886 percent at the last issue on March 6. The bank sold 4.5 billion Egyptian pounds of 273-day T-bills instead of the 3.5 billion pounds it had offered. …

EXCLUSIVE: Rush Fires Back at Advertiser

Posted by on Thursday, 8 March, 2012

Today, The Rush Limbaugh Show rejected an overture from Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen to restart its advertising on the show, a week after Sleep Train pulled its advertising. Here’s the text of the letter: Re: The Rush Limbaugh Show & Your Request Dear Mr. Carlsen, Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show. Rush received your requests personally. Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh’s character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future. Rush appreciates your long friendship and your past support, and we wish you good luck in the future. Brian Glicklich The Rush Limbaugh Show Last week, Carlsen’s company publicly denounced Limbaugh over his comments – for which he apologized – labeling Sandra Fluke a “slut.” Sleep Train tweeted , “We don’t condone negative comments directed toward any group. In response, we are currently pulling our ads from Rush with Rush Limbaugh.” Sleep Train, as a company, was made by its advertising campaign on Limbaugh, as Carlsen acknowledged in 2006 : “The ad guy said, ‘Now he’s a little bit controversial, but he needs a bed, would you take care of him?’ I needed every sale that I could get at that time, so I said, ‘Yeah, bring him in and I’ll take care of him.’” While the Media Matters strategy seems to be to continue to assault Rush by pressuring his advertisers – even after the apology – they’re bound to fail. Limbaugh is clearly operating from a position of strength. You can bet that Sleep Train will lose a lot of potential customers over this. Perhaps they can sue Media Matters for its terrible strategy here.

The Brokest Country Has the Brokest Citizens

Posted by on Thursday, 23 February, 2012

(John Hinderaker) I wrote yesterday that “Maybe you have to be Greece before most people get seriously concerned about sovereign debt.” Oops. My mistake. It turns out that the United States is already, by at least one basic measure, broker than Greece. This chart, from the Senate Budget Committee, shows how much citizens of various countries owe, on a per capita basis, in national government debt. The average American owes more than the average Greek (or anyone else): But don’t worry, you say. Surely our fearless leader, BHO, and the many geniuses employed in his administration have a plan to address the debt crisis. Right? Well, no, actually, they don’t. The administration’s hope, as expressed in Obama’s FY 2013 budget, is that by 2022, if all goes according to plan and every assumption embedded in the budget comes true, the average American’s debt will rise by 70%, to $75,000. The American ship of state is beginning to resemble the Costa Concordia as it approached the rocks off Giglio Island. One question that will someday be answered by history is: which ship had the more irresponsible captain at the helm?

Jake Tapper Lashes Out: Santorum ‘Committed Political Malpractice’ With His ‘Horrible’ Debate

Posted by on Thursday, 23 February, 2012

An unusually harsh Jake Tapper on Thursday lashed out at Rick Santorum, mocking the Republican's “horrible” debate performance. The ABC journalist appeared on Good Morning America and suggested that Santorum was so bad he should take himself to court. Tapper piled on, deriding the former Pennsylvania senator: ” You know when you meet somebody and you make a bad impression, you wish you could take it back? That's what Rick Santorum must be feeling like today…A horrible night for him .” Although much of the reaction to Santorum's performance was mixed to negative, Tapper was over-the-top. [See video below. MP3 audio here .] On CBS This Morning , Jan Crawford offered a more nuanced analysis: “For most of the night, Santorum was under siege…Rick Santorum fought back.” Crawford added that “Santorum struggl[ed] to get his footing.”

Ed Schultz Producer Apologizes for Comparing Va. Republicans to Nazi Death Camp Doctors

Posted by on Wednesday, 22 February, 2012

When has a liberal reached the realm of the truly unhinged? When reined in by Ed Schultz. This happened yesterday on Schultz's radio show when one of his producers, James “Holmy” Holm , let loose with yet another memorable rant, this one about Virginia Republicans pushing a law that would mandate an ultrasound before an abortion (audio) — SCHULTZ: What is happening in America? This is going to be the most radical, intrusive law passed on women's health since Roe v. Wade. And (Virginia Gov. Bob) McDonnell says that he's going to sign it. HOLM: Uh huh. He's eager to sign it. SCHULTZ: We gotta do something big on this tonight. (on MSNBC's “The Ed Show”) HOLM: To me, and I'm not, I'm not calling the fine folks in the Republican Party Nazis. But what this is, this is Joseph Mengele stuff. This is medical testing. This is arcane, ridiculous, basically torture what they're doing to these people. Got that? Those “fine folks” in the Virginia GOP aren't Nazis — they merely act that way. And not just any Nazis, mind you — the worst among them. Holm proceeded to add this — HOLM: Let's play this out to its logical end. Thirteen-year-old girl gets raped in Richmond, Va. She becomes pregnant. They want to get rid of that baby. What are they going to do to her? They're going to bring her into her doctor's office and rape her again. Correction, Mr. Holm — it's not opponents of abortion who want to “get rid of that baby.” This is where you come in, remember? Two hours later, a chastened Holm apologized, though it appears he was nudged (audio) — SCHULTZ: Now Holmy, earlier in this broadcast today, you got all cranked up. You really believe that what the Republicans are doing as far as the health care and with the law that's being passed in Virginia is paralleling that of Joseph Mengele? (pause) I want to give you a chance here. HOLM: OK, yeah, go ahead, that's fine … SCHULTZ: This is a big, 'cause I know how righties grab this and chew on it (hmm, tasty!) and spin it and everything and spit it out and everything else and it reads a helluva lot different from what you meant. HOLM: Yeah. And, and listen, the first thing I want to say is, and there is nothing that can compare. And E.J. Dionne is right. There's nothing on this earth that we know of that compares to the slaughter of 6 million Jews, what the Nazis did. There is nothing to compare to the horrific medical experiments and torture they put upon people of the Jewish faith. And I, when I said that earlier today, and I said that I'm not accusing the Republicans of being Nazis … SCHULTZ: You did say that. (Just before you accused them of being Nazis, hence the conversation we're having now) HOLM: … I did say that (and looking back, that fig leaf clearly wasn't big enough) , but I said this is Joseph Mengele-type stuff. You're doing medical, you're doing forced medical testing on people who don't want to have it done (please clarify: are you referring to ultrasounds or abortions …?) . That wasn't right for me to say. I take full responsibility for saying it (while reserving the right to add weasely equivocations) and I apologize for saying it. I put you in a bad situation. I (I know how sensitive you are to Nazis being impugned) I put other people on this team in a bad situation and by no means do I mean to diminish what went on, what the Nazis perpetrated on this country (“this country” …?) , and I shouldn't have said that and I apologize to anyone that was offended by that, including the people in Virginia that want to pass this arcane, ridiculous overreach of a law that I believe is forced rape on women. (not to be confused with consensual rape) These weren't the only inanities uttered yesterday about the proposed ultrasound abortion law in Virginia. Later on that night's Rachel Maddow show, ditzy professional RINO Meghan McCain said the issue was “toxic” to McConnell and would, uh, “penetrate beyond politics.”
