It Begins… Obama Administration Arrests Praying Pastor and Priest Outside White House (Video)

Posted by on Sunday, 19 February, 2012

It’s an Obama world… Six Christians were arrested outside the White House this week including a priest and a pastor while praying. American Freedom posted video: World Net Daily reported on the arrests: Six people peacefully protested the Obama administration’s mandate requiring employers to provide contraceptives, sterilization, and abortion-producing drugs by kneeling in prayer in front of the White House, and they quickly were arrested and whisked away by U.S. Park police. “Occupy Wall Street protesters have been occupying federal property for months, but when we kneel in prayer, the police are called in and we are arrested,” said Father Wilde, one of the protesters. The six people, including Wilde, of Priests for Life, and Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, organized the peaceful protest on the heels of a Priests for Life lawsuit filed against the Obama administration seeking to permanently block the implementation of the HHS mandate. Wilde and the other protesters were cited for “failure to obey a lawful order” as they knelt in prayer in front of the White House. Each paid a $100 fine and was released from custody. Wilde said. “We knew that was the risk when we gathered today, and we will do it again regardless of the risk. What people of faith – of every faith – need to do now is stand with us.”

This is Not Just a “Culture War,” It’s An Attack on The First Amendment

Posted by on Wednesday, 8 February, 2012

The media is calling the Barack Obama attack on the Catholic Church a “culture war.” Culture War . The words and graphics are everywhere. It was the ABC News headline one morning, “Candidate’s Culture War” is what the graphic said. As if this is some sort of battle between Obama and the Republican candidates. Yes, it is that, but it us much, much more. This is also a fight much larger than “culture.” Culture is something that defines art and common belief. Culture is something that changes with the times and can actually be defined as you wish. Much of our culture today is not what it was 50, 100, or 200 years ago. What I think is culture, may not be what you think is culture. Yes, there is an “American culture, and I believe I know what it is, but I certainly don’t trust the media or this President (who would probably see me as a “bitter” American who “clings to guns and religion” ) to tell me what it is. The Constitution doesn’t work that way, certainly not the First Amendment which guarantees religious liberty and expression. I would like to think the Constitution would define our culture, but sadly that is not always the case. For the media to call this a “culture war” greatly diminishes its value, this is a battle over the First amendment of the US Constitution. Obama wants the Constitution circumvented to pander to his base, I would hope that most of us would be united with the Catholic Church in wanting it protected. The new part of the ObamaCare law (that nobody read before they voted on it) says that churches that provide health care and insurance, must also provide contraceptives. The Catholic Church opposes contraception. “The White House insists this achieves a balanced approach that respects women’s health care and religious liberty, but that’s not how the Republican candidates see it,” said Jake Tapper of ABC this morning. Jake, this does nothing to protect religious liberty. It tries to destroy it. Thankfully, the presidential hopefuls joined in the fight. “We must have a president who is willing to protect America’s First right, a right to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience. This is a violation of conscience,” said Mitt Romney Rick Santorum says Obama has been “hostile to people of faith particularly Christians and specifically Catholics.” Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul have also been avid opponents to Dear Leaders actions on this. Not just because they want to be seen as opponents, they all believe what he is doing in inherently wrong. The Catholic Church sees it as our Founders saw it. “Never before, unprecedented in American history, for the federal government to line up against the Roman Catholic Church,” said Catholic League head Bill Donohue. The media, the bastain of safety that says it will be there to protect our babies from dangerous high chairs and deadly car seats, will not be there to protect us when our Constitution is under attack. They just won’t. They will think they are picking sides and they certainly will not pick sides against Dear Leader. In fact, they will call it something else to water it down and make a fight over the First amendment the same as a battle over an art fair downtown. Well, actually, now that I think of it, if there is a battle over an art fair downtown the media will invoke the First amendment to get it done—yes they will. But in this case, a battle to the core of the our freedom to worship, it is just culture. Yes, this is a battle, it is a fight. It is a fight between all Americans who believe in the God given right to worship as we please and express our religious preferences, and this White House, that believes it has the right to tell Catholics how they should worship. You don’t get closer to Ground Zero in a Constitutional battle than this. This is a Constitutional War, and the media should call it that.

#Occupier Drives Stolen SUV Up Steps & Into Entrance of Pittsburgh Convention Center; Flees Scene

He said the SUV was loaded with explosives. ( WTAE ) The Post-Gazette has video: A Pittsburgh Occupy protester drove a stolen SUV into up the steps and into the doors of the convention center. He said there were explosives in the car before fleeing the scene. MSNBC reported: An SUV was driven up the front steps of the downtown PNC Firstside Center and hit the entrance of the building on Tuesday afternoon. Sources told Channel 4 Action News that, as the driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe fled the crash scene, he claimed to be with Occupy Pittsburgh and said there might be an explosive device inside the vehicle. “He came down here and he stopped at the stop sign, and then he went straight up into the building. He didn’t go fast,” witness Ashley Corek said. “And then he got up and walked out, and then went up the street. That’s it.” Pittsburgh police cordoned off the area for a while and set up a perimeter while a bomb squad unit investigated, but no explosives were found.

Politico’s Dylan Byers Gives Media Matters the Last Word On Loesch, Attkisson AIM Awards

Posted by on Tuesday, 7 February, 2012

If John Podesta isn’t paying his Politico-parrot Dylan Byers anything, he’s getting quite the sweet deal. In today’s lip-lock with Media Matters, Byers writes up a piece about the Accuracy In Media award our own Dana Loesch and CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson are set to receive this week but, as he does quite frequently, Byers gives Media Matters the final say: In response to the statement, the liberal watchdog group Media Matters today noted that AIM has “a long history of promoting anti-gay views and conspiracy theories” and called the organization “a cesspool of hate.” Media Matters also noted that the award has traditionally gone to reporters from conservative or right-wing media outlets, including Big Journalism, Fox News, the Heritage Foundation, and The Daily Caller. We’ve done research on the unspoken relationship between Politico and Media Matters , and do you want to know what we’ve never found? Politico or Byers quoting any right-of-center media watchdog’s opinion of Media Matters. Funny how that works. Byers doesn’t even balance his reporting with a mention about the many respected Jewish groups, including the Simon Wiesenthal Center, that have criticized Media Matters and the Center for American Progress for anti-Jewish sentiments . Without a word, Byers simply links to a Media Matters hit-sheet on Ms. Attkisson.

Poll shows Maine Rep. Michaud in solid shape for reelection

Posted by on Thursday, 2 February, 2012

Rep. Michael Michaud (D-Maine) has a 23-point lead over the Republican seeking to oust him in November, according to a poll commissioned by his campaign and obtained by The Hill. Michaud takes 55 percent to Maine state Senate President Kevin Raye’s (R) 32 percent in the survey by Democratic pollster Jill Normington. Just 19 percent of voters view him unfavorably, a remarkably low number for an incumbent member of Congress. Even among Republicans, his 33 percent favorability rating exceeds the 27 percent who view him unfavorably. “He has broad and bipartisan support that gives him solid footing as the election year begins,” Normington wrote in a polling memo. Republicans said the numbers weren’t surprising coming from a Democratic pollster, adding that the path to victory in the seat remained clear for a Republican candidate. The state’s two popular Republican senators, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, have historically maintained approval ratings in the 60s and low 70s.
